Digital Finance PD Session

Professional Development training on digital financial literacy was delivered to PSCD primary and secondary church school teachers by Anamaria Magri Pantea from AscendConsulting.EU, with financial support from Malta Digital Innovation Authority. The aim is to upskill teachers for a digital financial future in order to expose all students not only those who choose the  Accounts or Economics option.

The session covered topics on the use of digital tools for budgeting, tracking expenses, saving, and investing. It also outlined the opportunities and risks created by digital platforms and social media for managing personal finances. Emotional regulation was emphasized as essential for making financial decisions. Discussions encouraged more awareness of the impact of online influencers and the importance of critical thinking when evaluating money advice. Finally, strategies were mentioned for building resilience against financial scams, phishing, and modern digital risks such as gambling, gaming, and social pressure–driven spending. Teachers were engaged in case studies and sharing of lesson plans with related  budgeting learning outcomes.
