The Psychosocial Therapeutic Service comprises a team of professionals that include Counsellors, Psychotherapists, and Play Therapists. These services aim to address various social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties that individuals may face, providing support and intervention through different therapeutic approaches.
Counsellors and psychotherapists are professionals who assist individuals in addressing concerns and developmental issues. They apply specific skills within a safe and confidential environment to help clients recognize their inner skills to improve their situation. Counsellors and psychotherapists collaborate with school staff members and other professionals for the benefit of students and their families.
Play Therapy is a medium used to address students’ social, emotional, and behaviour difficulties. It provides children the opportunity to express their feelings and thoughts through play. The play therapist liaises with the child’s parents/guardians, teacher, social worker, and any other professionals involved in the care of the child.
The counsellor or psychotherapist may refer children for play therapy. Play therapists do not follow children through direct referrals.
Each service has its unique approach and methodology, but they all share the common goal of helping individuals navigate their challenges and improve their overall well-being.
