During the month of September 2024 we were given the opportunity to travel to Budapest where we attended a three-day training seminar at the Converzum Nyelviskola. This was aimed at professionally enhancing our skills in Integrating AI in the Classroom with Critical Thinking.
In addition to learning about programmes and platforms that could enrich our teaching methods and approaches, we were given the chance to test them out during the course, and Dr Rita, our trainer, was there to address any queries or questions we had.
Such platforms included:
ChatGPT:
When given the right request, the latter mentioned platform, not only generates suggested lesson plans but is also able to generate a lesson plan that includes pedagogies such as UDL, scaffold the lesson according to the LO given and generate a worksheet, an assessment and a rubric related to that particular plan.
Toolsaday:
A character generator platform (photo of AI-generated character attached as an example). This served to prove how easy it is to bring to life characters from original stories.
I must say that through this rewarding experience, not only will our practice be elevated but the students in our care will surely benefit during their learning and educational experiences, which will see the input of AI, particularly in the planning phase.
