Testimonial – Michela Briscoe

The Erasmus course “Integrating AI in the Classroom with Critical Thinking” in Budapest was excellent. Our lecturer, Ms Rita Divéki, demonstrated professionalism and expertise, delivering interactive and practical lessons over three intensive days. Her hands-on approach made the content more engaging and easier to grasp

We explored various AI tools, with Claude, Gamma, Magic School
standing out as particularly useful for my role as a Learning Support Educator. These tools facilitate creating tailored activities, writing parent emails (Claude), designing presentations (Gamma), and generating educational resources like flashcards and songs (Magic School).

In my opinion, one potential improvement would be extending the course duration to allow for better absorption of the extensive material covered as there was a lot of
material to cover over three days.

A key takeaway was recognizing AI as an integral part of present and future education. Rather than fearing or prohibiting its use, we should teach students to utilise these tools responsibly. Ms Rita Divéki emphasised that while AI cannot replace the human element of teaching, it serves as a valuable aid. Importantly, teachers who embrace AI may have an advantage over those who don’t.

This course for me reinforced the importance of adapting to technological advancements in education while maintaining a critical perspective.
