A group of Guidance and PSCD teachers from various Church schools started the new year by participating in a professional development session on Drugs and the Law delivered by the Drug Squad. The aim was to develop teachers’ knowledge and skills related to the current local situation with respect to cannabis, which has now regretfully been legalised. The professional development session offered perspectives on how to handle the ongoing social complexity that educators are facing. The speaker, Inspector Pace gave an update of what the law says about Cannabis especially when minors are involved. Empowering teachers with such valuable information results in greater self-efficacy when addressing students’ queries. We are grateful for the continuous support and guidance we receive from the Drug Squad team.
