Following the Erasmus Project ‘More or Less’ (REF: KA101-051070), whole school training was delivered at St Francis Cospicua to understand maths mastery and the main strategies that are part and parcel of such approach.

The focus was on CPA Approach, Exploratory Tasks and Questioning Techniques. Teachers were able to understand the difference between concrete, pictorial and abstract and how these need to be implemented in each lessons for better understanding of concepts. They had the opportunity to discuss and see a variety of resources that can be used in class to help children conceptualise new learning. Teachers were also introduced to exploratory tasks and the different types of questions and how these promote reasoning and problem solving skills.
